UHMWPE extruder usually consists of hopper, screw, barrel and die. The hopper is where the UHMWPE pellets are loaded into the machine. The screw is a rotating auger that forces the pellets through the barrel and melts the pellets as they move toward the die. The barrel is heated to high temperature to melt and flow the UHMWPE. The die is the final forming tool that determines the cross-sectional shape of the extruded product.
UHMWPE extruders typically operate at high temperature and pressure to ensure complete melting and processing of UHMWPE. The resulting extruded product can be cut to size and used in a variety of applications
